Where research meets resistance. Where theory becomes healing.

Dr. Kaston Anderson Jr. giving a speech in academic regalia

My scholarship doesn’t live in a vacuum. It lives in the margins, the wounds, the churches, the classrooms, the clinic waiting rooms, and the spaces where people are trying to breathe through systems that don’t see them. I write for those who have been erased. I research to name what’s been silenced. And I teach so that the next generation can learn how to build without bleeding.

Areas of Research & Impact

  • Addiction & mental health

  • Community development & public health equity

  • Trauma-informed systems & leadership

  • Black queer well-being

  • Healing-centered behavioral science

  • Spirituality, identity, & liberation practice

Collaborations

I've presented at national and international conferences; reviewed for scientific journals and serve on Editorial Boards; served on and chaired scientific grant review panels; and led interdisciplinary symposia bridging public health, medicine, spirituality, and social justice.

I welcome invitations for co-authorship, guest editorship, special issues, and emerging scholar-healers. Please contact me if you would like a copy of a specific publication.
